3. Search documentation 

The search is carried out in in-house or external document collections or databases. Their contents can be accessed systematically, e.g. using keywords, classification symbols or indexing codes. The available documentation consists largely of patent documents but also includes non-patent literature, such as articles from periodicals (see B‑IX).
