Decision of the President of the European Patent Office dated 24 March 2025 concerning the continuous development of MyEPO and other online services
The President of the European Patent Office,
having regard to Articles 10(2)(a) and 119 and Rules 2, 127(1) and 147(2) of the European Patent Convention (EPC), Articles 5 and 7 of the Rules relating to Fees, and to Articles 27(7) and 49 and Rules 44, 80.6 and 89bis.1 and 2 of the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT),
having regard to the decisions of the President of the European Patent Office (EPO) dated 11 March 2015 concerning the pilot project to introduce new means of electronic communication in EPO proceedings (OJ EPO 2015, A28), dated 16 October 2024 concerning the electronic filing of documents (OJ EPO 2024, A88) and dated 9 February 2024 concerning the web-based online service MyEPO Portfolio and electronic notification to the Mailbox in proceedings under the EPC and the PCT (OJ EPO 2024, A20),
has decided as follows:
Article 1
Pilot projects
1. As part of the continuous pilot projects for MyEPO and other EPO online services, new features, functionalities and services will be made available to registered pilot users prior to full production release, in accordance with the decision of the President of the EPO dated 11 March 2015 concerning the pilot project to introduce new means of electronic communication in EPO proceedings (OJ EPO 2015, A28).
2. The decisions of the President of the EPO dated 16 October 2024 concerning the electronic filing of documents (OJ EPO 2024, A88) and dated 9 February 2024 concerning the web-based online service MyEPO Portfolio and electronic notification to the Mailbox in proceedings under the EPC and the PCT (OJ EPO 2024, A20) apply mutatis mutandis to such features, functionalities and services made available pursuant to paragraph 1, in addition to any specific conditions as published in the dedicated area of the EPO website and unless otherwise provided.
3. Any person may participate in the pilot projects upon valid registration and invitation by the EPO.1 Pilot participants will have access to all the features of the respective EPO online services, i.e. both to piloted features and already released features, unless otherwise provided.

MyEPO
The web-based online service MyEPO Portfolio is renamed MyEPO.
Article 3
Previous decision superseded
When this decision enters into force, the decision of the Vice-President Legal and International Affairs of the European Patent Office (Directorate-General 5) dated 10 October 2022 concerning the conditions for participating in phase 2 of the MyEPO Portfolio pilot project (OJ EPO 2022, A93) will cease to have effect.
Article 4
Entry into force
This decision will enter into force on 1 April 2025.
