Celebrating Pride and raising the banner in Munich

Each summer, cities around the world host Pride events to celebrate the LGBTQIA+ community, promoting visibility, support and allyship. The European Patent Office (EPO) is proud to participate in these events, and in a show of solidarity will adopt rainbow colours both online and on-site during the month of June.
Proudly flying the Pride banner
A rainbow banner has been installed on the side of the EPO’s Isar headquarters in Munich, where it will be visible from the city’s Pride parade route. In addition to this, at the beginning of June the EPO adopted a rainbow version of its logo on social media and website to celebrate Pride Month. The Pride flag was also raised during The Hague Pride at the Rijswijk site in May and will be flown again during Amsterdam Pride at the end of July.
Joining Munich’s Pride parade on 28 June
Munich’s annual Pride parade will take place on 28 June, providing an opportunity for the local community to participate in the festivities and show solidarity with the LGBTQIA+ community. Last year it hosted over 500 000 participants and spectators.
As in previous years, the EPO Rainbow Group will be participating in the parade and will walk in the procession. Everyone is warmly invited to attend the parade in support to cheer them and the other participants on.
