EPO Rainbow Group marked diversity at Munich Pride

Last Saturday around 50 members of the EPO Rainbow Group, their families and allies joined Munich Pride. They marched along with over 200 other designated groups in a parade - a new record - with almost 400 000 participants, which took over 6 hours to work its way from Mariahilfplatz, over the river Isar, around the Altstadt and up to the party areas near Odeonsplatz.

The vibrant diversity of the parade was clear to see: both young and old, cis and trans, from all walks of life, social backgrounds and every part of the spectrum of sexuality. They united to support queer people worldwide against threats to their civil liberties and safety, including hate speech and physical violence.

But Munich Pride is not just about protest – it was also a colourful party, celebrating the richness and variety of queer culture. The Rainbow Group members had a wonderful time together and were heartened by the many warm wishes from spectators and fellow parade-goers. They warmly invite colleagues to join them for Amsterdam Canal Pride on 3 August.
