Examination Matters 2011
An interactive seminar on patent examination practice at the EPO
This seminar is traditionally aimed at patent practitioners, in particular professional representatives before the EPO in industry or private practice.
It will be held on 29 and 30 September 2011 at the European Patent Office in The Hague.
Description
First held in 2008, Examination Matters is a discussion forum for sharing first-hand experience on general issues and on more specific aspects of day-to-day work on European patent applications at the EPO. Through lively interaction with EPO examiners, participants will receive immediate feedback on their questions and an insight into the examiners' way of thinking. The workshop-style event allows participants to tailor the programme to their needs and is also an excellent networking opportunity. The working language is English, the level of expertise advanced.
Programme
After registration and a welcome address, there will be a plenary session dedicated to the roles of written and oral advocacy, the boards' expectations of the boards of appeal of you as representative and the boards' decision-making process. The core of the seminar consists of workshop sessions. When enrolling online, participants will be invited to indicate a personal choice of five from among 21 wide-ranging topics.
