Paris Convention
India declares the European Patent Office as convention country
In a Notification dated 20 May 2003 published in "The Gazette of India", the Indian Government has published a list of countries, including groups or unions of countries or intergovernmental organisations, which are recognised as convention countries under the Paris Convention. The Notification takes effect on the date of publication.
The European Patent Office is included in the above list. It follows that priority can be claimed in India from European patent applications filed on or after 20 May 2003.
