INFORMATION FROM THE EPO
Notice dated 10 December 2003 concerning revised Form 1200
In December 2003 a revised Form 12001 (Entry into the European phase) was issued.
The revised form and amended Notes are reproduced below.
Applicants are advised to use the new form in future. They may however continue using the old version (01.02)2 without prejudice to their rights.
The footnotes to Sections 10.1 and 10.2 (Designation fees) now include the following new EPC contracting states: Slovakia, Bulgaria, Czech Republic and Estonia3 (accession date: 1 July 2002), Slovenia4 (1 December 2002), Hungary5 (1 January 2003) and Romania6 (1 March 2003). A footnote to Section 11 (Extension of the European patent) points out that now that Slovenia and Romania have acceded to the EPC, extension to these two countries is possible only for international applications filed prior to their accession.
For technical reasons, the forms embedded in this article are only available in the PDF version.
1 The new form ("EPA/EPO/OEB Form 1200 12.03") is obtainable free of charge from the EPO (preferably Vienna, but also Munich, The Hague and Berlin) and the central industrial property offices of the contracting states. An editable version in pdf format will be available on the EPO website at "http://www.european-patent-office.org".
