1. Compendium of the papers of the European qualifying examination
(a) Printed edition
In December 2002, the European Patent Office will publish a new edition of the Compendium of papers from the last European qualifying examination. It is intended to assist candidates and tutors in preparing for the examination.
The Compendium consists of four booklets, which may be ordered together or separately:
Papers A & B (Chemistry)
Papers A & B (Electricity/Mechanics)
Paper C
Paper D, Parts I and II
Each booklet contains the corresponding paper(s) in English, French and German, the examiners' report (original language only) and examples of answers by successful candidates (one per official language).
The booklets cost EUR 20 each, excluding postage and packing. Previous editions (1990/92 and 1993 to 2001) are still available.

(b) CD-ROM
Since the end of 2001 the Compendium is also available on CD-ROM.
The CD-ROM contains all previous years, with the examinations for 1999, 2000, 2001 and 2002 formatted so that the user can work on the papers interactively. It also contains all the relevant legal texts and a list of all the landmark decisions of the EPO boards of appeal.
Copies of the "Interactive Compendium" on CD-ROM for EUR 75 may be ordered from the EPO's Vienna sub-office at the above address (see under printed edition) by using the enclosed order form.
2. European qualifying examination 2003 in the United Kingdom
Canidates sitting in the United Kingdom are advised that the examination will be taken in London at 1 Victoria Street.
