Notice of the President of the European Patent Office dated 1 March 1993 concerning recognised microorganism depositary institutions
1. The following depositary institutions have acquired the status of international depositary authorities under Article 7 of the Budapest Treaty on the International Recognition of the Deposit of Microorganisms for the purposes of Patent Procedure.
The kinds of microorganisms accepted by these institutions together with other technical information are specified in Industrial Property 1992, 211.

Acquisition of the status: 31 August 1992
2. As a result of the European Patent Organisation having filed on 26 August 1980 the declaration specified in Article 9 of the Budapest Treaty (see OJ EPO 1980, 380), the EPO recognises, for the purposes of Rules 28 and 28a EPC, the deposit of microorganisms with the afore-mentioned institutions in their capacity as international depositary authorities. Such recognition includes recognition of the fact and date of the deposit as indicated by these authorities as well as recognition of the fact that what is furnished as as sample is a sample of the deposited microorganism.
