Solidarity with Austria after school shooting in Graz

We are deeply saddened by the tragic news of the school shooting today in the Austrian city of Graz.

As a sign of solidarity, the EPO will fly the European Patent Organisation and Austrian flags at half-mast in Munich and The Hague for three days, to coincide with the period of national mourning in Austria. A letter of condolence is also being sent to the Austrian delegation to the Administrative Council of the European Patent Organisation.

Our thoughts are with all the victims and their families at this difficult time. Schools should be a place of hope and learning where children are safe.
