Exploring new avenues for co-operation with the Bavarian government
On 12 May, the EPO welcomed Florian Herrmann, Head of the Bavarian State Chancellery and Bavarian Minister of State for Federal and European Affairs and the Media, to its headquarters in Munich. State Minister Hermann led a delegation that met with EPO Vice-Presidents Christoph Ernst and Nellie Simon to explore areas of mutual interest and potential co-operation.
During the meeting, the EPO presented an overview of its activities before underscoring the EPO's significant socio-economic contribution to the Bavarian economy, as highlighted in an upcoming local impact study soon to be published. Discussions also touched on emerging technological trends shaping the future and competitiveness of Bavaria, Germany and Europe, as well as the strong innovation activities of Bavarian firms. State Minister Herrmann affirmed the Bavarian State Government’s interest in the EPO’s patent and technology intelligence provided by the Observatory. Regarding the sustainable use of the EPO’s patrimony, Minister Herrmann expressed his appreciation for the EPO’s proactive engagement with the Bavarian State Government.
