Decision of the President of the European Patent Office dated 19 February 2025 fixing the amount of the fee for validating European patent applications and patents in the Lao People's Democratic Republic
The President of the European Patent Office,
Having regard to the agreement signed on 13 May 2024 between the Lao People's Democratic Republic and the European Patent Organisation on the validation of European patents,
Having regard to the revised Patent Law of the Lao People's Democratic Republic,1
Having consulted the Deputy Minister of Industry and Commerce of the Lao People's Democratic Republic,
Has decided as follows:
Article 1
The fee2 for validating European patent applications and patents in the Lao People's Democratic Republic is fixed at EUR 180.
Article 2
If the validation fee is paid late, an administrative surcharge3 of 50% of the amount specified in Article 1 must be paid at the same time.
Article 3
The fees under Articles 1 and 2 apply to payments made as from 1 April 2025, the date of entry into force of the validation agreement signed between the government of the Lao People's Democratic Republic and the European Patent Organisation.
Article 4
This decision enters into force on 1 April 2025.
