Information from the EPO
Decision of the President of the European Patent Office dated 27 November 2024 concerning the publication of the list of professional representatives
The President of the European Patent Office, having regard to Articles 10(2)(a), 20 and 134 and Rule 154 EPC, has decided as follows:
Article 1
Publication in the form of a searchable database on the EPO website
The EPO publishes the list of professional representatives acting before the EPO in the form of a searchable database on its website.
Article 2
Purpose and public inspection
The database serves the purpose of providing the public with access to information on the list of professional representatives, including telecommunication details. It is searchable and its use is free of charge.
Article 3
Publication
The searchable database contains the following information on each professional representative:
- last name and first name(s)
- representative number
- full postal address of the place of business or employment
- telecommunication data (telephone number, email address, web address), if provided to the EPO on or after (re-)entry and if consent to their publication has been given
- date of entry or re-entry
- date of deletion
The entry of a person deleted from the list of professional representatives will remain in the searchable database for five years from the date of deletion.
Article 4
Transitional regime
Entries of professional representatives deleted from the list of professional representatives will be displayed in the searchable database only if the deletion takes place on or after the date of entry into force of this decision.
Article 5
Entry into force
This decision enters into force on 3 February 2025.
