Decision of the President of the European Patent Office dated 22 April 2024 concerning the decommissioning of certain online services
The President of the European Patent Office, having regard to Article 10(2)(a) and Rules 2, 127(1) and 152 of the European Patent Convention (EPC), has decided as follows:
Article 1
Decommissioning of certain online services
When this decision enters into force:
(a) it will no longer be possible to access the Mailbox using the old Mailbox service interface (generally referred to as "legacy Mailbox"). Access will only be possible via MyEPO Portfolio1.
(b) professional representatives will no longer be able to notify the EPO of representation changes using the My Files service.
Article 2
Previous decisions superseded
The decision of the President of the European Patent Office dated 26 April 2012 concerning notification of representation changes by professional representatives (OJ EPO 2012, 352) and Article 9 of the decision of the President of the European Patent Office dated 11 March 2015 concerning the pilot project to introduce new means of electronic communication in EPO proceedings (OJ EPO 2015, A28) are set aside.
Article 3
Entry into force
This decision enters into force on 1 July 2024.
