National fees in euro
In view of the introduction of the euro, the patent fees in Italy have been laid down in the new currency.
Applicants for and proprietors of European patents with effect in Italy are advised that from 1 January 2002 the following rates apply:
1. Publication of translations of the claims pursuant to Article 67(3) EPC:
EUR 10.33
2. Publication of translations of the patent specification under Article 65 EPC: EUR 10.33

4. Conversion of European patent applications or patents into national patent applications or patents:
Request for conversion on stamped paper: EUR 10.33
Filing fee: EUR 41.32
Renewal fees for 1st to 3rd years: EUR 69.72
Publication fee according to size EUR 51.65 to EUR 619.75
5. Registering a transfer, licences and other rights: EUR 61.97. The application for transfer must be filed on stamped paper, currently costing EUR 10.33. It may also be filed on ordinary paper bearing a revenue stamp of the same value.
Updating of the information brochure "National law relating to the EPC"
Users of the EPO information brochure "National law relating to the EPC" (11th edition) are asked to make the appropriate amendments to the amounts of fees shown in Tables III.B, columns 2 and 9, IV, column 3, VI, columns 1 and 3, VII, column 2, as well as IX, columns 4 and 7.
