Decisions of the President of the EPO
Decision of the President of the European Patent Office dated 14 December 1992 concerning the completion of the technical preparations for the publication of European patent applications1
The President of the European Patent Office,
Having regard to Article 10 EPC and Rule 48(1) EPC,
Has decided as follows:
Article 1
The technical preparations for publication of the European patent application shall be deemed to have been completed at the end of the day that comes seven weeks before expiry of the eighteenth month following the date of filing or, if priority is claimed, following the earliest date of priority. The previous time limit of ten weeks in Part A-VI, 1.1 and 1.2 of the Guidelines for Examination in the European Patent Office (January 1992 edition), shall be changed to seven weeks.2
Article 2
This decision shall enter into force on 1 January 1993. The Statement by the President of the EPO of 18 July 1978 (OJ EPO 1978, 312) is hereby set aside.
