INFORMATION FROM THE EPO
Notice from the European Patent Office dated 10 September 1992 concerning revised EPO Form 1010 ("Payment of fees and costs")
The EPO has revised the above form (EPO Form 1010 08.92). In the new version, reproduced below, a number of small changes have been made, particularly to the explanatory section (fee codes and list of accounts). The layout in the OCR section1 however remains unchanged, so applicants can use up their existing stocks of the old version2.
The form is available free of charge from the EPO in Munich, The Hague, Berlin and Vienna, or from the central industrial property offices of the EPC Contracting States.
Applicants are reminded that if they file the form by fax for use as a debit order they should not follow this up by filing the original form or a letter of confirmation; the same applies for debit orders sent in by telex or fax without using Form 1010. If they do so - which is not required by either point 6.2 of the arrangements for deposit accounts3 or point 4.2 of the notice from the EPO dated 2 June 1992 concerning the filing of patent applications and other documents4 - they run the risk of payment being debited twice.
