New rates for renewal fees
The Netherlands Patent Act 1995 (Rijksoctrooiwet 1995) has been amended with effect from 5 June 2008. Besides a number of other changes, the rules relating to the payment of renewal fees have been amended.
The new rules apply to renewal fees payable from June 2008.
Renewal fees for (European) patents valid in the Netherlands are payable for the 4th and all subsequent patent years. Contrary to the previous Dutch system, patent years will now be counted from the date of filing the application.
Renewal fees must be paid for each coming patent year and are due on the last day of the month in which the anniversary of the date of filing falls.
The amounts payable for the 1st to 20th patent year are:
