Quarterly update: quality dashboard

Earlier today, the European Patent Office (EPO) updated its quality dashboard to reflect figures from the first quarter of 2024. The latest results from product audits confirm continued high quality in search, particularly in finding relevant prior art. In addition, the figures reflect solid progress in identifying issues that could affect patent validity, especially those related to added subject matter.

Launched in March, the dashboard fosters transparency by delivering regular updates on quality standards and user satisfaction. It showcases essential key performance indicators (KPIs), providing stakeholders with a transparent picture of quality in the patent granting process at the EPO.

The update follows the introduction of the annual Quality Action Plan, which outlines targeted actions to further improve the quality of the EPO’s products and services.
