Formalities Officer (EUR/4605)
The European Patent Office in The Hague is seeking an Administrative Employee (Formalities Officer) *
in Patent Administration
3-year contract
(multiple posts)
Deadline for applications: until further notice
Main duties:
- administrative handling of patent documents from receipt of the application until the final grant or refusal of a patent
- advising applicants and representatives in all procedural aspects of the granting procedure
- close cooperation and support for Patent Examiners
- initiating the various procedural steps and checking whether all requirements are met by the applicants
- dealing with all fee-related matters
- publication of patent documents
Most of the work is carried out on a PC, the EPO has a highly developed variety of tools.
Your profile:
- the ability to interpret legal regulations and to apply administrative procedures
- knowledge of office software packages
- flexibility and the ability to function in an international and multicultural environment
- team oriented
- work experience in industry/administration would be highly appreciated
- national of an EPO member state
- completed secondary education - or in exceptional cases - equivalent professional experience
- working knowledge of official languages**
