Trilateral roundtable
The European Patent Office (EPO) will host a roundtable discussion session on behalf of the Trilateral Co-operation at the EPO Patent Information Conference 2008 in Stockholm.
The following organisations will be invited to send up to four of their members to the roundtable session:
- The Patent Documentation Group (PDG)
- PatCom
- epi
- The Confederacy of European Patent Information User Groups (CEPIUG)
Other patent information groups who wish to receive an invitation to the round table are invited to submit a request to the EPO by sending and e-mail to conference@epo.org.
The round table is taking place in an effort to establish mutually beneficial relationships and to better understand our stakeholders' needs.

The discussion will focus on the following topics:
- Determine what data and products users currently use
- Identify patent information needs and wants
- Collaborate on potential products that meet those needs
- Discuss problems created by inefficient access to relevant information
- Identify which data sources have the greatest impact, resulting in fewer, better targeted, higher quality patent applications
- Discuss ways to provide efficient access to all relevant patent information, including procedural and ownership data
The EPO will publish a report of the meeting.
